Executive Creative Director

Patreon, the leading platform connecting creators with their fans, is seeking an Executive Creative Director to lead our creative vision. With over 250,000 active creators earning more than $3.5 billion since our inception, we're revolutionizing how creators monetize their work through exclusive content and monthly memberships.

Based in New York or San Francisco (hybrid model, 2 days in-office), you'll oversee our centralized creative studio, reporting directly to the VP of Design. You'll lead a dynamic team crafting best-in-class marketing assets that celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Patreon's creator communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define creative strategy, visual language, and personality for Patreon's creator-centric marketing
• Manage and grow a decentralized creative team
• Lead art direction, photography, videography, typography, and campaign systems
• Partner with internal teams on strategy and creative concepts
• Guide creative roadmaps and protect brand integrity
• Recruit, coach, and retain top creative talent
• Foster an environment of innovation and creative risk-taking

Requirements

• 10+ years creative experience, including 3+ years leading creative teams
• Experience managing internal and external teams, including creative agencies
• Established partnerships with agencies, freelancers, and vendors
• Expertise in developing scalable campaign platforms
• Strong storytelling capabilities across multiple formats
• Track record of building and differentiating brands
• Experience with integrated marketing campaigns
• Knowledge of brand-based marketing strategies and cultural trends
• Strong team leadership and recruitment abilities
• Tech-savvy with understanding of content creation evolution
• Online portfolio required
